The Blaney Lecture
Poets Forum Lecture
Participants: Anne Carson
Internationally acclaimed poet Anne Carson presents a lecture on forms of contempt in Homer's Odyssey, Moravia's Il Disprezzo, and Jean-Luc Godard's Le Mépris. (This lecture series was created in memory of former Academy of America Poets Board member Dorothy Gulbenkian Blaney by a gift from her estate.)
This event has been organized by The Academy of American Poets as part of their 2010 Poets Forum series.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.
